Vintage sort of Preppy Chic

Hi, everybody,
I am a huge fan of vintage clothes and the trend called ''preppy chic'':) It usually has a sort of vintagee feel to it, so let's talk about that. The ''preppy chic'' must-haves are:
  1. dark-rimmed glasses, preferably Ray-bans wayfarers (the more Clark Kent-like, the better)
  2. a white blouse, preferably with bib-like collar or ruffled shoulders. Or both;)
  3. a woolen short skirt or a skirt made of any thick material (you can play with patters here)
  4.  knee-high socks (you can choose any color you like but I would stick to neutral tones)
  5. the Oxford shoes aka the Oxfords. Love them!!!

This is the somewhat stricter version of the preppy chic with black glasses,
a black skirt and black shoes but she balances the strictness
quite nicely with nude tones
and the gorgeous nude Chanel bag.
This is, as you can see, not a typical example of the preppy chic
but I included it in my post anyway because it falls into the ''vintage'' category
(ruffles on the blouse, school girl cardigan).
The little pops of red really complement Alexandra Golavanoff's outfit.

I love this vintage blouse. And the girl's hair. If I had long lang hair, I swear I would wear them like this the whole time!

The rockabilly version of vintage chic.
Love the bow in her hair and the pattern on her blouse.
Cute shoes! Love that shade of lipstick! Also a bit rockabilly-ish:)
So young and already so chic.
These oxfords are definitely on my wishlist!

This outfit is my absolute favorite!
Louise Ebel brilliantly mixed and matched a long slinky nude dress
with a leather moto jacket, nerdy glasses and beret and actually made it work!

Take care,

Inspiration: La Marelle

La Marelle is a French Label which I personally adore! Their designs are so colorful and playful. As far as their jewelry is concerned, I would recommend wearing just one piece at a time, two at most. Personally, I would wear it on a darker item of clothing because it emphasizes the piece more. Each item, may it be a brooch or a ring, is a little work of art:)

My favorite picks include:

These necklace pendants:

A little angel in a polka dot dress. How cute!:)

This is an old-school photograph
and painting all in one. Love it!

This Bambi bracelet is absolutely adorable.

I actually own this particular brooch
(and I am always complimented on it) ;)

This Little Red Riding Hood Brooch is on my wish list:)

...and pocket mirrors.

The only ''problem'' that I have with La Marelle collections is that I want to have everything! Their vibrant colors and aesthetic designs are addictive eye candy!

Have a nice Sunday!

Rustic Interiors

Sometimes, you just want to escape from it all, escape from the noisy cities and relax in the countryside, breathing in the fresh air, resting your eyes on the luscious green hills, feeling the dewey grass beneath your bare feet, the whole shebang. Maybe you'd like to stay in a nice rustic cottage with all the rustic thingies in it. You know, the whole shebang.

Don't have the time or the money to enjoy the rustic cottages with all the rustic thingies in it? Don't worry, here it is. Especially for you:)

Nice trip, eh?

Enjoy your day, wherever you are and whatever you're doing:)

Teja's Quick n' Easy Chocolate Chip Cookies

These are really easy and fun to make. I made them yesterday and they were gone in one afternoon:)

To make 24 you'll need:

115g / 1/2 cup butter or margarine at room temperature
45 g / 1/4 cup caster sugar
100 g / 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
175 g / 1 1/2 cups plain flour
1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
1 tablespoon of cocoa powder
150 g / 1 cup chocolate chips
1/4 tsp salt

1 Preheat the oven to 180 C/350 F. With an electric mixer, cream the butter or margarine and both the sugars together until light and fluffy.

2 In another bowl, mix the eggs and vanilla essence, then gradually beat into the butter mixture. Sift over the flour, bicarbonate of soda, cocoa powder and salt and stir. Add the chocolate chips, and mix to combine well.

3 Place heaped teaspoonfuls of the dough 5 cm/2 in apart on the baking sheets. Bake in the oven until lightly colored, about 10-15 minutes. Transfer to wire rack to cool.

Bon apetit, everyone!

Inspiration: Clarissa Hulse

The weather in Slovenia is slowly getting cold - and rainy! I don't know about you but I don't like rain at all. It's so gloomy and sad:(

But then I discovered the fabulous designs of the renowned textile designer Clarissa Hulse. They are so colorful and fun that they turn around even the rainiest of days! :)

Clarissa with her vintage furniture,

I love this photo.
Her greatest inspiration is nature of course:)

...clip purses...

I love the rich blue color of this scarf!

...and of course bed linens with fun and colorful prints.

Have a wonderful Sunday, everybody!
